Sub-Principles Involved
Combining translatory and rotary motion.
Since all the limbs in the body move in a rotary fashion around a joint it is necessary to combine the movements of two or more joints to produce a linear motion by that body segment.

Effects of momentum.
Momentum is the product of mass and velocity; therefore, if either of these components is increased, the object will posses proportionately greater momentum.

Acceleration is proportional to force.
Acceleration, important in achieving a Feat final velocity, is proportional to the force causing it, providing the mass is held constant. Meaning that if the force is doubled, the rate of acceleration is also doubled, etc.

Counter-force in striking activities.
The amount of force a strike implemented imparts to an object depends on the combined momentum of the implement and the object at the moment of impact. Any give in the implement or the object at impact reduces the force.

Direction of force
In general, all forces should be applied as directly as possible in line with the intended motion. Forces applied in other directions either retard motion in the desired direction or result in wasted energy.

Follow through
Emphasis on correct follow-through eliminates the tendency to decelerate a striking action before its completion.
